Constructive width

When joinery is installed, a person who does not work in this branch would find it difficult to understand what the joinery is installed on. The three- and four-chamber systems have a structural width of 60 mm (58 mm).Five-chamber systems are 70 mm (up to 76 mm) respectively. Choose a minimum of 5-chamber joinery. The era of 3- and 4-chamber windows has long passed. For a few years, their replacement has already begun. Requirements for thermal insulation and energy savings are increasing every year. The 5-chamber window frames have a larger structural width and therefore more stable, collect a larger glazing and have a lower heat transfer coefficient.

Thickness of the outer walls

In addition to the profile width of the profile and the number of air chambers, the thickness of the outer walls of the profile chambers is also of great importance. Different PVC profile manufacturers use different wall thicknesses from 2 – 2.5 mm to 3 – 4 mm. Our advice is to trust well-proven PVC profiles such as REHAU German profiles , 3 mm thick. This is important both for the strength and durability of the window itself, as well as for the heat and noise transmission of the joinery.

What is the recycled PVC profile and why is it healthier than the regular?

Another important point is the use of recycled PVC profiles. Until recently, it was believed that this negatively affects the profiles, which is a totally false statement. In connection with the latest environmental requirements of the European Union, manufacturers are required to use a minimum of 30% recycled in the production of profiles.

Recycled PVC profile is actually a raw material produced by the processing of existing / waste PVC materials. In its production, doubles of stabilizers and adhesive materials are used, which in turn contributes to the double strength of the profile. It is important to note that the outer layer of the profile is made of primary PVC material, and recycled material is only used in the core of the profile, which remains to the wall and is not visible after the window is installed, it does not affect or distort the aesthetic appearance of the product but, on the other hand, increases the strength and stability of the frame.
