Why is the glazing choice important?
Why is the glazing choice important?
The glazing occupies 80% to 90% of the area of your joinery and is made of two or more glasses separated by an aluminium or plastic profile spacer and sealed with a special silicone. From the choice of the right glazing to a basic degree depends both the heat and noise insulation and the light transmission of your windows. The glass used for the production of glazing units is different in appearance and thickness with different qualities. Their rich variety allows the execution of a wide variety of glazing – entirely customized to customer requirements. The most commonly used glasses are: white transparent glass, low emission or “K-glass”, high energy or “4 seasons”, decorative or ornamental glasses.
Which glass to choose?
We advise you not to use a double glazing unit with two ordinary white glasses – never. Both 3- and 4-chamber joinery as well as glazing with ordinary glass have long been in the past. Right now enough safety glasses on the market and you should take advantage of them. For northern and eastern premises where you can use less, we recommend K-glass .“Four Seasons” glass (or more Sunergy glass) as appropriate to the south and west, where the sun shines more strongly. The choice of glass depends on various factors, such as: the type and purpose of the building, the climatic features of the area, exposure to the sun, your requirements for the thermal insulation and noise insulation characteristics.
Here you can find more information about different types of glass.
Do not compromise the type of glazing at the expense of the price! Here you will notice the difference, and often the cheap is expensive. Unfortunately, many masters often promise to have a glazing with safety glasses, but eventually you get a plain glazing of two white transparent glasses. Establishing the type of glass is difficult for the ordinary client’s task. Therefore, we recommend you to work with industry-proven companies with quality assurance, relevant declarations of origin and CE marking.
